Dr. Venkatesh Babu Segu graduated medical school with top honors from Government Medical College, Mysore, India. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. Dr. Segu completed his endocrine fellowship and Internal Medicine residency at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He then worked as a Senior Fellow at University of Washington Medical School, Seattle and Research Fellow at Pacific Northwest Research Institute, Seattle, Washington. He started his clinical practice as an endocrinologist in 2001; he worked for five years at Salt Lake City, Utah and another five years at Munster, Indiana prior to moving to Austin, Texas. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism.  He is a member of American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Segu loves nature and travel, enjoys watching basketball.  He is married and has a son, a daughter and a cute little parrot.
