What is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)? A CNS is registered nurse who has completed a Master's program in nursing and has been credentialed by the Board of Nurse Examiners to practice as a CNS in a specific area. The CNS works very closely with the physician. How can the services of a CNS benefit me? Having a CNS available will assist your physician in providing quality and timely care related to your diabetes treatment and self-management. The CNS can provide additional time for you to ask questions and discuss your concerns about your diabetes. How do I schedule an appointment with the CNS? All of our Clinical Nurse Specialists assist Dr. Blevins in seeing and treating new and established patients. An appointment can be scheduled by calling (512) 458-8400. |
